The idea to capture photos of door knockers and knobs occurred to me as I was taking my 5 year old son to his football training session. We were walking along one of the many winding alleys of Ħaż-Żebbuġ, when I started to realise how most of the houses sport their own unique door knockers (ħabbati) each pair with their own particular features. There and then I decided that I should create my own small visual presentation to bring together these typical Maltese features that adorn the houses of my home town.
